The last song on CD3 is Watcher of the Skies in a cut single version. These songs were recorded on October 20, at the Rainbow Theatre in London. Which makes it much worth buying archivd a Genesis-follower, such as myself. I would have to give this work three stars, mostly for the material on the third disc and for some of the better material scattered about on the first two discs containing The Lamb live. Great booklet as well with lots of pictures of the band, picture of memorabilia and a great history of the era.
ARCHIVE 1967-1975
The second half of that CD is really badly recorded and of limited interest unless you really value the first Revelation so it gets 2 stars. These songs have excellent sound quality. I especially love the live Lamb in its entirety. The new Rolling Stone album guide. Here and elsewhere the reader notices a couple of mistakes. When before have we seen photos that show Genesis in the studio between andor during a jam session or during the recordings of The Lamb in the studio … or Phil and Richard Macphail taking a leak … or Richard and Mike coming out of a lake in their birthday suits?
Why only one of those while this double CD contains sixteen yes 16 songs, some being duplicates like "Stagnation", "Hogweed" and "The Musical Box?
The Magic Of Time 2: As for CD1 and CD2I did not particularly care for the studio version see my review as I say that it would have been better as a single albumthe live version with all the vocals redone is not likely to enthrall me. OK that's gejesis joke. Had it been included in From Genesis To Revelation it would not have stood out very much.
There was an excellent color booklet on the history of the band.
In addition, this disc contains wonderful track Twilight Alehouse 7: There are a couple of famous photos but also lots of new photos arcihve seem to come from the private photo albums of the band or crew members.

How about live renditions of both the Lamb and Suppers Ready? Supper's Ready shows how better a Peter Gabriel Live version is to any Collins one, simply outstanding. Interestingly enough, this live version, too, had been recorded at the January 24, gig at the Shrine in L. The Lamb Lies Down From tofrom Charterhouse to the LA Forum, this collection has it all - an archive to be savoured, 'cos we all know what happened a few years later When Virgin kicked off their promo campaign in the summer of we received colour copies of the complete booklet.
Not knowing much of the Genesis bootlegs going around the net, or about the creation of this set itself, I just wanted it for the first three discs.
While not for the new fan of Genesis Peter Gabriel period, it certainly is for the incarnated one. This impression never arises with this archive. Play these tracks loud.
Absolutely excellent, 5 stars. Riding The Scree 4: Also there are a number of vocal overdubs mostly on the "carpet crawlers". As we mentioned above, some of the images in the Archive booklet are hard to appreciate because they are too close to the binding or spread across two pages.
Fly On A Windshield 4: The Lamb concept works extremely well, eventhough Peter Gabriel's voice do sound a bit tired and harsh occasionally.
